The Fly Fishers International was started in the northwest United States. We are involved in all aspects that pertain to fly fishing. We have grown and now have become an international organization. It might be best explained by going to our website, flyfishersinternational.org.
Recycling monofilament is an easy activity that any club or council can participate in. The damage that waste monofilament can cause to fish and wildlife can be prevented with a few simple steps.
This is a conservation project already planned out by the IFFF and posted on the website. Grants can also be applied for to cover the expense. The Cowletz Fly Anglers have stepped up to do a project in their local fishing area.
They have finally secured all necessary approvals from the DFW and Tacoma Power and Light to proceed.
They will purchase, build, deploy and maintain the recovery tubes. They received the necessary decals
from the IFFF other than our clubs decal that will be placed on the tubes.
The recovery tubes will be deployed on the Cowlitz (two at the Blue Creek Hatchery boat launch site
and one at the Barrier Dam area) and two at the Kalama River.
